Last month I enjoyed a “ladies lunch” with two girlfriends at Palm Restaurant in West Hollywood. The first Palm opened in 1926 on 837 2nd Ave. in New York City. Two Italians, Pio Bozzi and John Ganzi, from Parma, Italy obtained their business license to open a restaurant. Since their accents were so thick, when they said the name of the restaurant was “Parma” to the city clerk, it was interpreted as Palm.
