Royal Caribbean’s newest ship Utopia of the Seas kicked-off a preview cruise during the ship’s blessing and naming ceremony at the AquaTheater. Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.
This ship’s new home port for new and loyal Royal Caribbean cruise vacationers will sail on three-night weekend and four-night weekday cruise vacations starting on July 19, 2024. Each cruise will also visit Royal Caribbean’s private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau in The Bahamas.

Onboard the ship was megastar Meghan Trainor, the Godmother of the Utopia of the Seas. She was invited to bring her family with her on the cruise, including her actor husband, Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids) and their two sons, plus her mother, brother and backup dancers for her 60 minute concert at the ship’s open-air AquaTheater.
Partygoers throughout the ship were dancing to the beat from DJ Lucy and legendary Rev Run and DJ Ruckus at the turntables. Royal Caribbean executives, invited guests and crew members gathered in the iconic open-air AquaTheater to hear a local minister and a rabbi bestow safekeeping onto the ship at the naming ceremony.
Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group escorted GRAMMY winning performer Meghan Trainor onto the stage. “We set out to create a utopian playground at sea that delivers the perfect short getaway and ultimate vacation,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. “I’m immensely proud of our dream team that turned this vision into reality. Utopia of the Seas embodies our commitment to push boundaries and deliver the best vacation experiences responsibly.”

Trainor started singing before she became a teenager. According to the GRAMMY website, Meghan at the age of 11 was recording her own songs on a MacBook using “GarageBand” software. Her debut album Title, hit the charts in 2015, debuting at No. 1. This album produced three Top 10 hits: “All About That Bass” (No. 1), “Lips Are Movin'” (No. 3) and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” (No. 8). Trainor won her first career GRAMMY for Best New Artist in 2016. That same year, she also received nominations for Record and Song Of The Year for “All About That Bass.”

Her mantra in life is “It’s all about loving what you got and rocking it.” She is a supporter of the Cybersmile Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to championing anti-bullying efforts and working toward building a safer, more positive online community.

The party hit a high note when Trainor performed live for the audience her #1 song “All About That Bass.” The crowd roared as more than 50 of the 20,000-plus Trainor fans who entered a chance to join the party were onboard. They each won the 3-night celebration and cruise that offered one party after the next, including another live concert on board hosted by Trainor.

“Becoming Utopia’s godmother and being here for this incredible celebration with Royal Caribbean is a dream come true,” said Meghan Trainor, godmother of Utopia of the Seas. “From performing on a breathtaking stage while we’re in the middle of the ocean to having my fans here to sing and dance with me and experiencing it all with my family – Utopiareally is the ultimate short getaway. I’m so honored to be part of the memories so many will make here.”

Afterwards, friends and families celebrated by participating in a lineup of experiences that included 40 different restaurants, bars and party venues. Utopia also offers one of the largest casinos at sea, and a new immersive train car dining experience Royal Railway – Utopia Station.

There are more pools on the ship than days sailing on the cruise. Show-stopping entertainment includes exciting aerial acts in the air at the Royal Theater, and in water at AquaTheater. Guests can also watch world class athletes on ice.

Every Utopia of the Seas cruise will stop for the day at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. This top-rated private island ups the ante with 14 water slides, a wave pool, zip line course, hot air balloon, and a variety of different beaches with food and drink venues to suit everyones mood.

Adults like the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and The Bahamas, the newly opened Hideaway Beach. The beach offers a protected swimming area for guests to swim in the warm Caribbean water. There is a DJ to listen to music while sipping a tropical beverage and enjoying a snack or lunch with your toes in the sand.
Splurge and reserved a private cabana with steps leading down to a refreshing resort-like pool. You will have shade and sun, food and drinks, and views of the ship and turquoise blue water beyond.
