National Donut Day is June 6

df9956bf4cb74fe57a694424_620x413The Donut or Doughnut is popular in many countries throughout the world. Legend has it that the Salvation Army started National Doughnut Day in 1938 to honor the men and women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

At Sixth St. Tavern part of the ACME Bar Group, they are offering maple-glazed donuts and buttermilk-fried chicken. It’s served with a Tapatio – slightly spicy whipped cream. The Great LA Doughnut Tour

On Friday, June 6 visit Bob’s Coffee & Doughnuts to enjoy a baked raised glazed doughnut. They start at 2 a.m. to bake their sugar, chocolate twists, buttermilk old-fashion Untitledand more. Doughnut Day at Normandie Bakery

Located in the Farmers Market Chef Josette is serving a brand new type of doughnut – the croissant doughnut. It’s a puffy doughnut that is denser than a croissant. It’s sweet and crunchy with a slightly buttery flavor. 6333 W. Third St. (323) 930-1944.

Planet Dailies Doughnut Special

This fun Farmers Market restaurant that creates inventive salads, pastas, seafood, steaks, contemporary Chinese fare, hearty sandwiches and decadent signature desserts, now has a new Luther burger with two raised glazed doughnuts as the bun.
