Ysabel Mother’s Day – Treat mom to brunch with globally artistic dishes created by Ysabel executive chef Alison Trent on Mother’s Day in a midcentury-modern space with an outdoor patio. The brunch includes buttermilk biscuits, toasted focaccia, gluten-free zucchini and banana bread, as well as plain and chocolate croissants. Mimosas are offered by the glass or carafe. Brunch also features spicy fried rice with poached egg, roasted wild mushrooms with fried egg, English muffins and hollandaise sauce, and Moroccan pepper stew with baked egg, feta cheese and dukkah (a mixture of herbs, nuts and spices). Ocean Prime Mother’s Day – The Beverly Hills restaurant Ocean Prime will serve Sunday brunch in honor of mom on Sunday, May 14. Blood orange mimosas are made with fresh blood orange juice, simple syrup, Cointreau and champagne. Mom will also enjoy signature bloody Marys made with a choice of vodka, housemade mix and a jumbo shrimp as a garnish. Starters include smoked salmon and bagels and blackened salmon salad topped with strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, goat cheese, field greens, basil poppy seed dressing and a sprinkling of candied walnuts. Viviane Restaurant at Avalon Hotel – Viviane offers a special Mother’s Day poolside brunch with a starter, entree and dessert. Newly appointed executive chef Jack Hotchkin’s menu features American and European-inspired cuisine with a California flair. Brunch selections include tomato carpaccio and lobster rolls. Executive chef Fernando Darin’s brunch menu includes specials for mom starting at 10 a.m. Smoked salmon Benedict with caviar and hollandaise pairs nicely with Nature or Nurture cocktails made with rosemary-infused gin and blended house-made strawberry lemonade. Mother’s Day at RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen – Chef Mohan Ismail’s four-course menu incorporates exotic flavors and dishes inspired by his family’s traditions in Singapore. Dine at RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen on Mother’s Day from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and enjoy a selection of appetizers including crispy samosas and lacquered barbecue ribs. Entrees include Vietnamese lobster with glass noodles and northern Thai curry short rib with snap peas, sweet potatoes, eggplant, cilantro and Thai basil. Mom will want seconds of the ginger fried rice. Indulge with caramelized banana custard cake for dessert. Elegant Patina on Mother’s Day – Patina’s new executive chef Andreas Roller offers an elegant Mother’s Day dining experience with beautiful, ornate dishes for mom at Patina, located at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes Capitol oysters and pearls, jumbo green asparagus with poached farm egg, and buttermilk fried quail with grits, apricot and sauce Albufera. Greek yogurt panna cotta with a berry compote and granola, and mango boba are available. The three-course prix-fixe dinner is $65 per person. A child-friendly menu features organic buckwheat waffles with Harry’s berries and crème fraiche Chantilly or jidori chicken with potato mousseline, carrots and herb jus. New chef de cuisine Dennis Crutchfield of Craft LA will offer a prix-fixe brunch menu and Sunday dinner menu in celebration of Mother’s Day. Moms will receive a complimentary La Purista margarita and assorted pastries by pastry chef Shannon Swindle. The three-course brunch menu also includes family-style dishes such as little gem salad with bacon lardons and avocado pickled shrimp with black pepper crackers. Main course options include croque madames, diver scallops and ramp risotto, and pork belly hash. Caring menu for mom at Café Pinot – Celebrate Mother’s Day in a lush garden setting at Café Pinot in downtown Los Angeles. Executive chef Viet Pham offers an inventive, California fresh menu on Sunday, May 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a Mother’s Day dinner menu from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy smoked salmon with everything bagel garnish, crème fraiche, radish, candy striped beets, dill and caper berries. Pham’s corn beef hash is served with crispy potatoes, piquillo peppers, caramelized onion, arugula and horseradish, and topped with 62-degree eggs. For a sweet and savory dish, the French toast with berries and vanilla Chantilly is served with optional seared foie gras for an additional $15. New Sunday brunch at Yamashiro
Hollywood’s hilltop restaurant Yamashiro is launching a new Sunday brunch buffet on Mother’s Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Moms will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne. The iconic restaurant, which previously only opened for dinner, will continue brunch service every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch buffet service features multiple themed stations with crab legs, shrimp cocktail, oysters, prime rib, chicken and waffles, omelets and build-your-own salads.
