The Most Expensive Rental Home in Los Angeles

I was invited to take a tour of the most expensive rental home ever in Los Angeles at the elegant LEVEL Furnished Living residental building in downtown Los Angeles.

Parking in the building’s valet area, a staff member escorted me to the elevator and used his security key card to activate the Penthouse level button. A resident on the 12th floor joined me on my ride up. “Did you move into the Penthouse?” he inquired. At that moment, I could tell the truth, that I was just touring the property, or I could fib and let him believe that I could afford $100,000 a month to live on top of one of the most elegant buildings in Southern California. I opted to tell him the truth. “I hear there is a swimming pool and spa up on the top deck that is so cool,” he said.

Getting off the elevator on the 34th floor, I arrived in the main hall of an 18,000 sq.ft. luxury, two-story Penthouse developed by Onni Group. Onni has built over 12,000 homes, owns and manages more than 6,200 rental apartments, and has built more than 9.5 million sq.ft. of office, retail, and industrial space. This Penthouse at LEVEL is touted as the most expensive, elegant penthouse rental in the Los Angeles market offering 360 views of Southern California.IMG_3348

“This is an exclusive opportunity for a high-rise lifestyle above any other in LA,” said Javier Cepeda, Regional Vice President of LEVEL Los Angeles when I met him in the dining room that comfortably seats 18 people. “The penthouse has been meticulously and lavishly designed for someone aspiring for more than the modern conveniences. You won’t find anything else like it in LA,” Cepeda added while introducing me to Alycia Butler, Onni Group Vice President of Marketing.

Butler took me on a tour of the opulent four-bedroom and ten-bathroom home sprawling atop LEVEL’s 34th and 35th floors. “The 13-ft floor to ceiling windows offering exquisite 360-degree views of all of Los Angeles,” said Butler.

She pointed out the grand dining room and a great room lounge with a large wet bar, before we continued on to three of the four separate kitchens – each equipped with gourmet Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. “The main formal kitchen has two inch marble from Italy,” Butler informed me.

We walked in front of one of the two large, temperature-controlled wine rooms behind 10-ft glass walls. “Each room can store up to 550 bottles of wine,” said Butler, before we entered the 15 person theatre/media room with an automated projector screen and plush seating for fifteen guests to relax while watching a private screenings. “This room is equipped with the latest entertainment technology,” said Butler.

We spent some time in the sumptuous master wing boasting a lavish, 480 sq.ft. walk-in closet. I daydreamed where I would hang my clothes and line my shoes in a tidy row.

Then strolling into the floor to ceiling master bath I noticed the oversized soaking bathtub offering million dollar views, and it brought back fond memories of staying in one of the luxury suites at the five star Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. They offered the same bath with views overlooking the spectacular Victoria Harbour. Butler showed me the top-of-the-line toilet/bidet that senses your arrival and automatically raises the lid. This unit offers lights, heat, water and music.

Walking into the master bedroom with two full windows of light and views, it offers a “wow” effect, as do the secondary ensuites.
