Even though the holidays will feel a little different this year, one of the best destinations in California during the winter is Indian Wells in the Greater Palm Springs area. From November to March, the weather temperature is usually between 77°F to 83°F during the day, and a low around 51°F to 56°F. During the entire year, the areas receive about 14.4 days of rain, collecting up to 5″ of precipitation. Families and couples enjoy flocking to the desert to soak up the warm sunshine, play in the pools, and enjoy a change of scenery.

Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is nestled on 45 acres of lush towering palms with panoramic golf and snow-capped mountain views. In August 2020, the recently renovated property opened the largest new waterpark in the Greater Palm Springs area. About $10 million dollars of the $21 million dollar renovation project was spent on the waterpark. The rest of the money went to refresh the common areas, the new mid-modern indoor dining venues, and all of the Penthouse suites located on the fifth floor.

The 530 guest room resort offers the largest guest rooms in the desert. Even a standard room is more like a suite or deluxe rooms. The 26 remodeled Penthouse Suites offer a modern design and spacious living area, dining area, wet bar and powder bath. Guests can retreat to a king size bed and marble bathroom with a separate shower and tub. The large private balcony offers two lounge chairs, plus a table with two chairs for dining outside your suite. Views from the balcony include mountains, a golf course, and swimming pools.
Guest have the ultra-comfortable Hyatt Grand Bed, two 65′ flat-screen TV, individually-controlled heat and air conditioning, blackout curtains, hair dryer, Pharmacopia bath toiletries, two white plush robes, coffeemaker, minifridge, and in-room laptop-size safe.

HyTides is the largest waterpark in Greater Palm Springs and the centerpiece of the resort. This new and fun area features a three-story, 30-feet dueling water slides, and 450 ft lazy river with inflatable blue plastic circular tubes to ride along the twisting and flowing watercourse.
Other areas for families to cool down include splash pads with water cannons, and cabanas for poolside lounging. The Hyatt Regency Indian Wells offers 9 different pool areas. There are pool areas for small children and one for guests 18+ only.

With private villa rentals on the rise, the hotel offers 43 one-bedroom to three-bedroom villas ranging from 1,100 to 1,700 sq. ft. Many have a fireplace and furnished private patios with grills. BBQ packages are available for guests to grill and dine in the comfort of their room. Some of the villas are close to the adult pool, and some have their own private hot tubs.
Other amenities include a 30,000-square-foot spa recently re-opened in mid-November. Guests have the option to enjoy 60 minute indoor and outdoor treatments.

Families have multiple grass areas to kick a soccer ball around, throw a frisbee and just enjoy being outdoors.
Hyatt Regency guests have golf privileges to the City of Indian Wells golf course that surrounds the resort. Tennis is also available to guests by reservation. The resort is also convenient to hiking trails, bike paths, shopping, and a variety of dining venues.

There are three onsite dining venues: The bright and modern Citrus Marketplace is open for coffee, pastries and breakfast items starting at 6 a.m. Limited lunch, snack, wine, beer and canned cocktails are available until 10 p.m.
Out by the pools there is the Roadrunner Cafe open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., for lunch, snack and early dinner.

The Agave Sunset bar and lounge opens at sunset at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. on weekends. Since the newly renovated Moroccan design Lantana restaurant is temporarily closed, The Agave is now a restaurant offering food service outside overlooking the Indian Wells Golf Resort. A flickering fire-pit keeps guests warm, while enjoying a beer, glass of wine, or desert-crafted cocktails.
The resort is 20 minutes from Palm Springs Airport. The newly scheduled air service includes three new routes from Southwest, Delta and American Airlines.
