While exploring the sights in Hot Springs, Arkansas, I stayed three-nights in the charming and historic 1890 Williams House Inn, a luxury bed-and-breakfast. The first evening, I was the only guest in the 6,500 sq. feet home. Built by Dr. A. U. Williams in 1891, I learned it was the first bed and breakfast in the state of Arkansas since 1981. The picturesque stone tower and stonework exterior is modeled after one on England’s Auckland Castle.

This magnificent Victorian style home was built by is run by Joe, Cody and Cody’s mom. Cody led me to my grand room. Named the Williams Suite, walking inside one immediately notices a four pillared jet bathtub with a globe chandelier above. There is an electric fireplace in a sitting area with a couch and a grand four-poster bed with the most comfortable king-size bed.

Behind the main house is a Carriage House with three large guest rooms. Back in the Main House, guests can enjoy complimentary beverages off the dining room in the Butler’s Pantry. There are also snacks and fresh baked goods available throughout the day and evening.

This area of the suite also had a refrigerator and microwave, plus a table for two to enjoy breakfast in the morning.

One morning Cody and Joe brought a custom made breakfast on a tray with a silver dome to my room. Underneath was a vegetable and cheese omelette with potatoes and slices of European ham. Also on the tray was a yogurt and fresh fruit parfait with a sprinkling of granola on top. Guests can also enjoy a breakfast in the formal dining room.
