I celebrated March 1 at LAX today inside the newly renovated Terminal 1 with travelers about to board their Southwest flight. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Gene Simmon and Paul Stanley of the mega rock band KISS were one hand, with their Rock & Brews co-founding partners Michael Zislis and Dave and Dell Furano, along with airport restaurant & retail giants Crews and Westfield.

South Bay Restauranteur Michael Zislis with Zislis Restaurant Group (Shade Hotel, Rock N’Fish, The Strand House and Rock & Brews) is an expert at luxury hospitality and inspirational restaurants. The grand opening of this new restaurant, marks the completion of phase 1 improvements at the terminal, which is undergoing a $508 million renovation.

I had the opportunity to get a photo oportunity with the legendary rock stars at the hosted official ribbon cutting and reception at Rock & Brews. Travelers can now “rock” about the Terminal 1 while exploring new stores that include Be Relax; Brookstone; I Love LA; SOL Surf; and Treat Me Sweet.

Travelers on the run can pick up a rockin’ meal to go from the Rock & Brews’ “Grab and Go” section or grab a table and dine-in. Southwest fliers can now enjoy a meal, cocktail or craft beer before or after a flight. Menu items include – breakfast items with a variety of frittatas served with a choice of toast; Benedicts; croissant breakfast sandwiches, Greek yogurt bowl and more. Before your flight sip a Creole Bloody Mary or Guava bellini, while enjoying in the rock-inspired environment.

Lunch items range from a multitude of Craft burgers, VIP salads, Headliner sandwiches, Front row pizza, Opening Act appetizers and RB Specialties with tacos, grilled tri tip and hot dogs.

Rock & Brews at Terminal 1 is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
