During Labor Day weekend one of Newport Beach’s special destinations – Roger’s Gardens, opened their annual Grimm Tales boutique. It’s sightly spooky with fascinating folklore rooms – Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Each room is filled with Halloween decorations to inspire you to enhance your home during Halloween.

Located in Corona del Mar, it’s across the street from Fashion Island and has been a family owned landmark for more than 50 years.

Last year, Roger’s Gardens Creative Director created a Grimm Tales boutique. It was a huge success, so they did it again and made it a little creepy, dark and scary (a hand holding the “heart” of Snow White). People of all ages enjoy the immersive Halloween experience with specific themed items for each famous story.

The Little Red Riding Hood is my favorite room. Check out the Big Bad Wolf asleep in Grandma’s bed. There is also poor little red riding hood clueless about what she is about to discover.

Furniture and props were purchased from movie industry auctions to create a spectacular visual treat. Many of the decorations are unique and will be the talk of your neighborhood, especially if you place some of these items outside by your front door or inside near a bowl of candy for trick or treat visitors.

Beside scary items, there are also whimsical pumpkins of every color and an assortment of gourds. They even have Fall and pumpkin theme wreaths for your door.

For an elegant look, there are a variety of masquerade masks to complete your Halloween costume.  For a fun decorating idea – take a gothic black dish and fill it with white pumpkins & gourds to lend a Halloween feel.

Roger’s Gardens offers a variety of services from expert horticulturist offering consultations on garden & plant advice, water conservation strategies, growing vegetables, fruit gardening, soil and nutrition need. There is a section with an array of beautiful fountains, pottery, outdoor furniture and accessories.

After exploring the gardens, visit the new Farmhouse Café restaurant with Executive Chef Rich Mead. The open-air cafe provides sustainable field-to-fork healthy based cuisine. It just opened September 1, 2016. The Farmhouse features exclusive wines, craft beers, signature cocktails and artisan refreshments.

Come back after Halloween when Roger’s Gardens has 20 themed trees decked with ornaments, garlands, wreaths and treasures collected from around the world. The front of the Gallery celebrates a contemporary American Christmas with the emphasis on entertaining.
