L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade is a culinary event hosted by James Beard Foundation winners Executive chef Suzanne Goin & Caroline Styne (Lucques, AOC, Tavern) and David Lentz, (The Hungry Cat). Money raised from this event helps fund childhood cancer research, as well as emotional, financial and logistical support programs such as SuperSibs and Travel For Care for cancer families. All chefs & vintners graciously donate their time, food & talent to the cause including Nancy Silverton (L.A.) – Mozza Restaurant Group (above photo) along with chef Giada De Laurentiis (Las Vegas) – GIADA, Pronto, GDL Italian (below). Both talked to guests, posed for photos and handed their dish for the day.
Marc Vetri (Philadelphia & Las Vegan) – Vetri Cucina made one of the most talked about dishes – a flavorful sweet onion crepe with white truffle fondue.
Jonathan Waxman – Barbuto (NYC), Waxman’s (SF) cut fresh and sweet Harry’s Berries on top of his stracciatella with crunchy chopped hazelnuts and mint leaves for his dish of the day.
Other fan favorite’s included Mark Rosati’s Shake Shack Patty Melt (Left photo) & Pink’s Hot Dogs offered vegan, beef and turkey hot dogs with creative toppings.
There were over 50 vintners and the cocktail artistry of major mixologists, including Eric Alperin (The Varnish), Neal Bodenheimer (Cure) and Christiaan Röllich (Lucques), among others, who will craft signature drinks for attendees.
Eva Ein (Santa Barbara) – McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams was inside her ice cream truck cooling down attendees with her all natural ice cream.
In addition to the chef talent in attendance, return supporters will include Laura Dern, Jimmy Kimmel,Nolan Gould, Joe Mantegna, Timothy Olyphant, Wilmer Valderrama and Kirsten Vangsness.Every year guests enjoy wearing Clover Chadwick flowers from Dandelion Ranch (Los Angeles) in their hair, on their hats or on their clothing.
Jon & Vinny’s made a delicious and crunchy Caesar salad.
