Walking into the Spanish Colonial Revival style spa on the third floor of Montage Beverly Hills, I was warmly greeted by a staff member to the 20,000 square foot luxury oasis for a Perfect 10 spa experience.
Celebrating 10 years, the property located in the heart of Beverly Hills offers visitors and guests an all-day spa package that includes 10 spa treatments and experiences. Since I didn’t have the entire day, I experienced 5 out of the 10 in four hours.
Taking a tour of the facility, I admired the co-ed mineral wellness pool bathed in natural sunlight. This elegantly tiled atrium has large skylights above, reminding me of the indoor pool at Hearst Castle above Cambria. I noticed a reserved sign on one of the nearby spa cabanas. That was my personal cabana to use throughout the day. Once I reclined in this comfortable area, I was offered a pressed juice and plate of seasonal fruit. The attendant told me that later in the afternoon and evening, guests receive a flute of champagne and crudité plate.
Checking into the women’s locker and lounge area, I slipped into a luxuriously soft white robe and spa-like black sandals before entering the relaxation lounge. The serene carpeted room is decorated in neutral cream, sand and white colors. There is a cozy fireplace, lounging beds and seasonal organic refreshments and teas. They offer two different health-inspired spa water glass dispensers. One is a cucumber infused water and the other is citrus. Both promote hydration and reduces hunger, help with weight loss and improve heart health. Each contains antioxidants that can improve skin health and fight off free radicals that cause wrinkles and age spots. I drank two glasses while inspecting the healthy spa snack bar. There were jars of raw almonds, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, granola, little white chocolate pearls that could be mixed together in a cup for a personalized spa trail mix. Whole apples and oranges were also available.
My esthetician welcomed me and led me to one of the seventeen well-appointed treatment rooms. The spa offers twelve massage and facial rooms as well as three wet treatment rooms, a couple’s suite and a luxurious nail studio.
One of the 10 experiences includes a firming detox treatment to refine and firm body contours. This is known to promote detoxification and reenergizes guests. My skin was exfoliated to stimulate lymphatic drainage and promote circulation from the nutrient-rich algae wrap.
Next, I received a 90-minute L.RAPHAEL Royal C facial and massage. This treatment helps reduce protein fiber damage while enhancing collagen production. The oxygenated vitamin C and L.RAPHAEL’S LEC-40 Complex was infused into my skin through the application of a Power Cure C facial mask painted onto my skin, followed by a silicone firming mask. While the mask was penetrating even further into my skin, my esthetician provided a light pressure Swedish massage, taking me into a deep relaxation. While increasing my circulation, this tailored blend of essential oils massage helped in muscle detoxification. This experience encouraged my mind to relax even further and I achieved an inner sense of well-being.
After my facial and massage experience was over, I looked into the mirror and noticed smoother skin, minimized pore size, and a decrease in the lines around my eyes. My skin tone was more even, and I looked noticeably brighter. Led back to the ladies locker room, I explored the Swiss showers, Turkish steam rooms, dry redwood saunas, whirlpools, and deluge showers before dressing and taking the elevator up to the top floor for a light lunch at The Rooftop Grill.
This dining spot at Montage Beverly Hills is located near the beautiful heated swimming pool. Sitting next to an iron railing, my table had one of the best views of Beverly Hills and beyond. Looking over the menu, I noticed an array of seasonal California cuisine, including vegan options. What caught my eye was the section of healthier options by celebrity health coach and holistic nutritionist Kelly LeVeque. She is the Montage Hotels & Resorts health and wellness expert. There are six culinary options that include a carrot cake smoothie and Greek salad with grilled salmon added on top. Their fruit infused ice tea offers no added sugar and an essence of tropical flavors.
Having to leave after lunch, I missed the dusting of 24k gold manicure and pedicure experience, as well as a soothing hot stone hand and foot massage, before a designer polish application. I also didn’t have time for an expert hair color application, cut and a blowout by one of the stylist at the Kim Vo Salon.
I did have a few minutes for a little retail therapy in the Spa Boutique featuring L.RAPHAEL’s exclusive line of luxurious skincare products, plush robes, athletic and yoga apparel, casual wear and specialty wear.
This perfect 10 package is priced at $5,000 (includes tax and service charge). Spa packages must be booked in advance. To reserve call (310) 860-7840 or email mbhspa@montagehotels.com.
